Pavements and pushchairs.

I need to take a child to nursery at midday, then collect several children after school.
Has anyone done the school run on foot this morning with lots of compacted snow on the pavements and piles of snow where cars etc have been cleared?
I am really nervous of falling or of the pushchair sliding into the road.
I know I am being overly cautious but I can't help it.....
