for you weather experts out thereXmas Smile

I am supposed to be travelling down to Reading on the 20th Dec, from north east england. Being a somewhat nervous passenger at the best of times, i am already becoming anxious about the snow reappearing. Am travelling by train, and returning on Wed 22nd.

Am i mad to be considering going?

unfortunately it is too early to give you anything other than a general indication. it does look like it is going to become very cold at the end of this week and at the moment from thurs/fri on snow does look likely in places. The models are split as to how long the cold will last for but probably for a few days at least.

i am a right quandry here. tickets are non refundable, but with a £20 charge i could change them, for a trip up to london next half term instead of seeing friend b4 xmas.

WHY does the Met office have severe weather warnings, starting friday, and accuweathewr shows nothing but a bit of rain??

badbad kitten i hope you see this !!!

I'm meant to be flying from Gatwick to Guernsey (small, slightly backward airport with awkward runway) on the 24th! Argh. Bet I don't make it.

well result, i have cancelled the trip.

They were not refundable but were exchangeable BUT, i would havre had to book another journey before this weekend, PAY for it (was thinking about half term next feb), then apply for a refund.
but the kind lady spoke to her supervisor who said they were happt in this instance to just give me a full refund. So that has meant a huge sigh of releif for me as i have no extra money to pay again b4 getting my tickets refunded iyswim.

I am pissed off we will miss out on seeing my friend, as i have not seen her near xmas t ime for 18 yrs as she lived across the other side of the wolrd up till this yr. Yet, there we go, i couldnt' risk being stuck.

thanks, i am a bit annoyed with myself for not holding out a bit longer. I don't have to send them off tomorrow, but i can't wait to long as they have to have them! No crystal ball here sadly tho.

Maybe you could wait a bit till you decide?

Thanks, jinglejet. Am kicking myself for booking such late tickets, but it was just so cheap! Sorry to hear you will probably need to cancel.

pirate, glad they gave you your money back - good service.
