morning all. A balmy .4C here. A good snow ice cover everywhere with a gentle thaw. I heard heavy rain in the night and the car has a nice layer of ice on it.

ok, off to look at the models. How is everyone else's weather this am?

Much milder in East Anglia - a whopping 1C apparently - and there's been a bit of a thaw - I actually spotted some grass Shock.

All I can say looking at the models is make the most of any thaw you get this weekend. This weekend looks complicated. A mix of rain showers and further north sleet or snow.

The south looks to have a drier interlude after Sunday for a few days, I'm not sure about the north of England up, light snow or rain as the air up above us is warmer than it has been with the deep cold we've had. In general, away from southern and south eastern coasts it will be sharp frosts by night, temps close or just above freezing in the day.

Just getting ready for DD's birthday party.

Not ventured out yet, but it is grey and damp looking.

We got no more snow after yesterday evening.

Still below 0C in Sheffield. But other than a very short snow shower around 8pm last night there has been no more snow. And most forecasts seem to say that we will now not have more snow, but possible rain and still very very cold.

Nightmare that exists now is the estate type roads like where I live. The roads are now a few inches of compacted snow and ice. Even the big cars are losng traction and slipping on it.

I reckon we need to get everyone outside to shovel snow fromt he road outside their houses - if everyone did it and put the snpw in their garden, we might have a chance of getting out.

Mind, I still have to locate my car. I believe it is buried beneath 2 foot of snow on my drive, but it isn;t actually visable right now.

am back - up to a balmy 3.7C. Was pretty icy on the way but on the way back there was noticable melt.

Heavy rain in the south today - could bring some flooding problems to the SE. Sleet and snow for others. Bit drier in southern scotland and parts of northern england for a bit.

We had snow about 10pm last night followed by sleet around midnight. Snow has thawed quite a lot now and car's temp guage was saying 3C an hour ago.
We went shopping over at Hinckley this morning and are able to use the car park belonging to Hinckley Council offices at weekends. Guess whose car park was completely clear of snow and had loads of grit all over it?! My face was definitely Hmm!

Nothing much happening here (Huddersfield/Holmfirth) today. We had sleet forecast but only had a little bit of rain this morning. Definite thaw but -6 forecast for this evening so will be icy in the morning, I guess. I find ice more frightening than snow so definitely won't be venturing out in that.

A bottle I think! Grin

Still raining here, it's warm enough for Ds to have gone to the football with DH, all wrapped up.
