Are these safe for my 4 month old??

I picked up a tip on here to give your teething babe a frozen carrot or stick of celery. Is this safe for my BF only 4 month old DD or will it potentially break and be a choking hazard?

Sorry to ask such a daft question!

celery can be an allergen
I am hideously allergic to raw celery

Also carrot if bitten off is a choking hazard for oen so young
You could wrap it in a bit of muslin maybe

I always used bickie pegs and amber beads - awesome things

What about standered teething rings? pop in the freezer and perfectly safe

STringy bits of celery make it very bad idea, def choking risk.

Thanks guys, you're great. Do you mean a normal amber necklace? I hadn't thought about that! Not keen on the bickie peg idea - they're food aren't they? I don't want to wean just yet. I have been using the usual teething ring thingoes but they don't stay cold for too long and she's not very dextrous yet and can't keep a hold of them. Also, I'm finding that the bits are too big to get in to her mouth really. Poor little thing. I have got some ashton parsons powders - not sure if they help or not!

bickie pegs are not technically food as they don;t eat them per se not like a rusk...
I guess if you had allergies in the family you' be careful maybe...

search ebay for amber teething necklaces

Hi Piffle - I've just done a quick search and it says they're meant to be worn rather than chewed. Is that right?? How on earth do they work??

I'll try anything once. Currently using Ashton and Parsons teething Powders - well for the past 24 hours - one dose morning and night and to be honest she's become completely chilled. I may have got it all wrong and she's not teething at all, or the powders have worked. Dammit, I do hate things when they're not clear cut

Ashton and Parsons are great - but be careful with dosage - they used to clear DS out good and proper so couldn't give him more than 1 every 2 days...good for when they are constipated though!

A+P powders worked for dd as well.

Just read bickie pegs are from 6 mths not 4 mths
BTW they were £2 off in asda today!
Yep I thought amber necklaces were bonkers too.
Until we tried them

Nelsons teething powders are 3 for 2 at boots if that helps. Try wrapping a bib around your finger and letting her chew your finger ds loves that it really soothes him and he also likes it if i rub his gums firmly with the bib
