free-flow beakers

Hi, does anyone know of any good free-flow beakers with soft spouts? I'm weaning my 5-month old straight from the breast onto beakers and used to use the heinz baby-basic beakers when I did this with my older child. I really liked them because they were easy to drink from, but they don't seem to be available any more - does anyone know what happened to them? All the beakers now seem to have valves, which I don't want. If anyone could suggest an alternative (or tell me where to get the heinz ones from if they are still around!) that would be really helpful.

I think avent does a kind of soft spout that can screw onto their bottles. it is valved but you can take the valve out to make it free-flow. However my DS found this too fast (he was also completely breast-fed). i eventually settled on the tommy tippee beaker with the flip-down spout, which is free-flow but isn't soft-spout, it's just moulded plastic. However DS seems to like chomping on the plastic.

The Avent one works, but is a bit fast. I think Boots do an own-brand free-flow spouted beaker with a soft spout.

you can get the heinz one in some tescos

dd is being weaned from breast to cup too and is now 7 months and is still useless at it

there's a new soft top tommee tippee one that's quite good (and cheap!)

Heinz ones are def still around I bought one the other week. Trying to remember where - it was either Tesco, Boots or Mothercare... sorry can't remember which.

Actually the ones we have had most success with are Nuby plastic beakers - they are probably more for toddlers and come in packs of 4 in Tescos. I had some anyway for my toddler and DS likes them far better than any of the (many...) baby cups I bought him. They are free flow. They are also what they use in the baby room of DSs nursery.

Boots winnie the pooh one was good...Im loathed to recommending a commercial one...but it was the only one we could find that wasnt valved & it did the job just great

I'll look out for the Nuby & Boots ones then. It's good to know the Heinz ones are still around too. They are on their website so I could probably get some through that, but I would feel nervous doing so if for some reason they weren't generally on sale in the UK ...
