Hiya

I am hoping that you can offer me some advice, as at the moment I am realy strugling to find food for Nicky to eat.

He is eating any jar of food I give him (as long as they either Hipp or C&G), within reason ie he hates parsnips lol!

But he totally refusing any homemade puree' I give him. I know my cooking aint that bad!(wink) He even refuses the most basic of purees I make, fruit or savory. Yet he gobbles down jared, and his yogurt and his fruit pots I give to him.........

I realy didn't want to feed him comercialy produced food, yet I dont know what else to do.

I know he liked the chix, mushroom and pasta puree I made, and he liked his steak and tomatoe puree too, but it is getting hit and miss as to what home made puree's he'll eat and I'm running out of food!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any idea's?

thanx in advance

Have you thought about trying baby led weaning?

It's been a while since I did this (mine are 5 and 8 now!) but they used to LOVE Annabel Karmel's Lovely Lentils.

Here's a link. I used to use half a small chopped onion instead of the leeks.

It's so nice, it makes a yummy soup for adults too if you make it a bit more liquid with more stock.

I would only give home made food for a few weeks so that he gets used to the taste. Jars tend to be more pureed and sweeter than home made even the organic ones (I think Hipp often has sweeteners and fillers).

I agree with tapster, ditch the jars, after a few days he will forget and eat what you give him...

baby led weaning..

try offering toast in the morning, fingers of toast and maybe some cheese

chunks of fruit can be given to nibble on

lunch can be chunks of fruit and / or veg

tea can be the same, or pieces of chicken , avocado, meatballs, pasta etc

if you prefer spoon feeding, give porridge, made with oats and milk , rather than commercial baby porridge

spag bol , pasta with grated cheese, thick soup

little sandwiches, mini pitta filled with hummous

etc....
