Iron after 6 mths - any definitive answers?

I've read in 2 or 3 places recently that the 'jury is still out' (damn, that jury must be busy) on the 'do breastfed babies get enough iron after 6 months' issue. We do BLW (DD loves spoons to stick in her ear but has never let me put one in her mouth, so please don't jump on my head) my 9 month old doesn't swallow that much yet, and we're veggie. I'm demand BFing.
So, dear MNers, I'm looking for what the most recent, evidence-based advice is re: iron intake. And should I consider a supplement. And how the hell do I get it into broccoli florets ?
Thank you!
