What do you give your 9 month old for lunch. I think my ds is needing more variety..

malt loaf and cheese cubes is a current favourite.

pitta sandwiches (sometimes filled with tuna mayo, sometimes houmous, sometimes soft cheese)

cheese on toast/beans on toast/cheese on beans on toast

omelette (plus whatever i have in in it..peas/cheese/mushrooms/tomato)

soup on toast/bread

pasta salad (cold pasta mixed with sweetcorn/peppers/tuna/whatever)

polenta (ready made stuff, fried in olive oil, topped with courgette and mozzerella)

i can think of some others if you're still stuck..

My ds, 9.5 months has basically whatever we had the night before. I just take his portion out before adding any salt/wine. He loves any kind of fish mashed with potato/ sweet potato and green veg (broc/courgette) and cheese sauce. Or finely chopped chicken, veg and tomato with baby alphabet pasta. In fact simple pasta tossed in unsalted butter with grated cheese is a winner. Any kind of bolognaise mix with either potato, rice or pasta; mashed banana with avocado and philli cheese... or if we are on the move a marmite sandwich and slices of mild cheddar. Always followed by a yog/fruit. Are you giving finger foods? veg batons and corn on the cob are favourites too. Hope this helps - I'm looking for other mumsnetter ideas too... so will watch this thread!

As a rule of thumb I just give him whatever my 4 year old is having (although I didn't know I could give him beans at 10 months I honestly couldn't remember when I gave DS1 beans either)

I weaned my 4 year old on whatever we ate as that was the diet he would be having. A winner for me is chicken breast cut into strips, dipped in egg with a dash of milk and then into crushed cornflakes!!! Fry them in a pan - winner. Noodles, pasta with anything, steamed veg, sandwiches and the numerous fillings, fish, potato a favourite in our house (I just microwave it on the jacket setting, cut it into thick slices and peel the skin off or put in through a potato ricer to make mash)

I have just bought Annabell Karmel's "after school dinners" for some more inspiration. She is the Delia of children's food. All hail Annabell
