He has about 3 7oz bottles a day and will eat porridge/weetabix for breakfast, snacks on fruit, rice cakes and youhurt before his dinner which is normally either jars if we are out and about or he like's the tins of pasta shapes,or mash and veg.
The problem is im struggling to find different things to give him and feel like he has the same things all the time.
Can anyone give me any idea's on what i can give him.

whatever you eat is fine: sandwiches, toast, spagetti bol, shepherds pie, fish pie, roast dinners...
Just mash things up a bit if he likes it like that

Annabel Karmels 'Meal Planner book' is absolutely fantastic for ideas. I often make my DS chicken w.cous cous, chicken w.swede & potato, pasta w.roast veg, cheesy veg's... the list is endless...They are all really simple to make and can be frozen which makes life a lot easier!

Ds2 who is 10 months likes

Cheese sandwiches, marmite sandwiches, hot dogs , toast, hot cross buns,

Pancakes, boiled egg, scrambled egg,

Roast dinners - chop up meat for him, roast parsnips as finger food, also carrots, broccoli, potatoes etc. Any steamed veg is good.

Shepherds pie, spaghettie bolognese, lasagne, jacket potatoes with tuna and cheese is a big favourite, also with tinned salmon

Basically - he'll eat anything we have, which I'm enjoying while it lasts!!!

Ds did like hotdogs, tried to give him them again last night with some spagetti and mash potato but he wouldnt touch it at all.
he hasnt got any teeth yet so will that make a difference to what he can have?

nope
their gums are just as good as teeth

I liked this book better than AK - less spooning so less work for you!

You could try aitch's blog as well. I'm not saying that you have to do blw but there are loads of recipes if you click on the link on the left.

I really recommend buying a babycook. Just add your meat / veggies, steam for 10 mins and then puree to required consistancy. I just make it up as I go along. I've never even picked up an AK book. For example, yesterday ds has cod, potato, green beans with apple. I always add a knob of unsalted butter and a bit of cheese.

Thanks for all these suggestions.
I will definatly try them, and it might even encourage me to eat more healthy food so ds can have the same

You can basically feed a 10 month old anything you have. A word of warning, I do know some babies who've been weaned on a lot of jars, and they do get addictive and some of them have fought home made food. when you're out and about now, you could buy him a sandwich and break it up instead of using a jar? Or order yourself a spag bol/jacket potato and share it?

Hi
Sorry to hijack this thread but looking for some advice about 10month ds too! He is a pretty good eater will eat most things that I make for him (when he's hungry, not ill, teething etc) however have slight issue with snack foods. He likes all the savoury things, rice cakes, bread sticks, crunchy carrot sticks, sweetcorn rings, pitta bread with dairylea etc, but I can't get him to have much else, so his snack menu is very limited! Have tried fruit, cheese, soft cooked carrot sticks - but he just puts them in his mouth then spits them out, so I go back to the things he likes to make sure that he actually eats something. Should I just keep doing this, or try another tack? Again apologies for hijacking!

Littleman - I'd say that your ds is learning that if he refuses what you offer first, then he gets what he wants.

I would offer him fruit, and if he doesn't want it, then just leave it where he can get it later on, but don't offer anything else. Be prepared to give his next meal a tiny bit earlier than normal the first few times, in case he tries to hold out.

I don't think it matters if they have the same thing often though, as long as you're happy with what it is. My dd has fruit (either fresh or dried) for most of her snacks - her favourite fresh fruits are grapes, cherries and blueberries. Perhaps you could try him with these.

Chocolate, thanks for the reply. I had thought that too, trouble is he's a stubborn little thing and just won't eat anything (must get that from his father!). He goes to nursery 2 days a week and comes home ravenous because he won't eat anything there, not sure if it is because he doesn't like it or that he doesn't like the setting or something. Today for example he's been hungry all day, and having real tantrums, yet if I give him something that requires a bit more work he just casts it aside and moans at me! Have tried fruit and dried fruit, he kind of looks at it, tastes it then disregards it! I will keep persevering though, as I would prefer that he had a better range of snacks. Thanks again for the help. Any other advice would be appreciated.
