BLW - how soft to start off with?

We've just started offering ds (25 weeks) finger foods and he's quite enthusiastic so far. I have been steaming the veg till they just about hold together but can be easily squished between his fingers, to try to avoid choking... is this right? And is hard cheese like mature cheddar OK to offer right from the start? I am just trying to figure out what exactly constitutes too much of a choking hazard.

be guided by him. the whole idea is that it's baby led. offer different texture foods and see what he's best with. i would cook the veg how you eat it yourself and see how he goes with that. then you aren't having to cook two lots of everything. if he needs them softer or firmer then you can go from there. the only thing i do differently to how i eat it is apple, which i grate.

cheese is fine. no need to go for mild or bland cheese, just give what you have, strong, mild, whatever.
