weve been following a certain book. weve followed the 4-5 month routine for 2 weeks even though ds is 24 weeks. the problem is i dont know if i should now skip to the 5-6 month old and increase the volume of solids he has and start giving milk after the meals. at the moment were doing this

7am - 7 ozs milk
10am - 7ozs milk. wont wait until 11.30am
1pm - 6 ozs milk followed by 1 cube veg
4pm- 5 ozs milk
6pm - 1 cube fruit mixed with baby rice
7.15pm - 5 ozs milk. hes cut down on this milk since starting solids
11pm - 7 ozs milk
3am- more milk.

whats wrong with the routine, is he getting too much milk, should i start brekkie, give more solids.
he doesnt go to bed until 7.30pm

Hello, I never know whats right really, I guess you just go by what your baby wants. I feel slightly guilty because i haven't gone by a book! my babe is 21 weeks and eats stacks! vague pattern is this:

8am - boob
8.30am - baby rice or baby porridge (prob about 5 big tsp of the powder)
12ish - boob
3ish - boob
5-5.30ish - 2 veg cubes and 1 fruit cube
7.30pm - 7oz of formula
1am - boob
4am boob

Notice the little tinker is still waking up in the night a lot though! so today i'm taking him off the boob and also giving him a rusk to suck for lunch. I say, if the babys hungry just give them a bit more of everything.
good luck xxx

My ds is 7 months and I was told to cut down on his milk as solids are now more important. So, his routine goes a little like:

8ish - wakes and breastfeed
9am - breakfast
12.30pm - lunch
2.30pm - bottle
5.45pm - dinner
9.15/9.30pm - bedtime bottle

Anyone else similar to this??

Main food to a year should be milk. At around 6 months it should be just first tastes.
