So weve been trying baby led weaning and it seemed to be going well, cheating a bit and helping dd hold things but hey.

However we had no dirty nappies for 5 days, then just 1....is this normal? Its a big reduction for dd.

Grandma is convinced no dirty nappies + badly sleeping baby =hungry baby, but is of the wean themvon baby rice at 3 months at the latest persuasion.

Shes also suggested that giving her food 1 hour or so pre milk feed is a bad idea as shell never be hungry to take food or milk properly.

Im having a crisis of confidence, am i doing it all wrong...help?

Change in poo is normal, does she drink much water? Mine found it easier to drink from an open cup rather than a sippy cup. Cucumber sticks, grapes etc have a nice high water content, and prunes are fantastic for constipated babies.

Do you mean giving food about 1 hour after a milk feed? That's recommended to begin with, so they're not starving hungry or too full.

Emmanuel she likes cucumber, ill have to try her on grapes and prunes, my attempts with apples and pears have been refused. Shes still getting the hang of her sippy cup but does sometimes have some from mybglass, ill try her tommee tippee with the lid off more regularly. Is one dirty mappy in 5 days normal, or do you think she just needs more water??

Culture, yes i meant after, sorry sleep deprived bbrain x

I would say she probably needs to go a bit more often, but I wouldn't worry too much if she seems comfortable, just have water available all day. Is she having plenty of wet nappies? Is her mouth dry or does it seem fine?

I used to mash prunes into yoghurt which seemed to be accepted more readily than on their own, dried apricots are good aswell and taste nicer but might be difficult to eat unless she has a few teeth

I don't think there's a set way to do it tbh, if you think she might be more interested in food before the milk feed then have a go, it's all trial and error

We're doing BLW too, and have had anything from three times a day to once every three to four days, so I wouldn't worry too much!
