Help with amount of milk, meals and snacks for 1 year old

My son is almost one, I have no idea about what I should be aiming for food wise at the moment. I have been reading old threads about one year olds on one bottle and I can't see me doing that yet.

He currently has four 7 oz bottles and he might take around 20-23 oz per day overall. I know I need to cut a bottle if not more but don't know which one. He likes the bottle after his morning nap, should I just give him a snack then instead and offer him a bottle before his afternoon nap?

At the moment he has a good breakfast and a good dinner at around 5 o'clock. He has a midday meal which is fairly 'snacky': finger sandwiches/one egg omelette/leftover pasta/soup served with a couple of the following: chopped veg, fruit, yogurt, cheese cubes, mini rice cakes with peanut butter. Should he be having breakfast and two 'proper' meals plus snacks?

After 12 months they need about 12oz cow's milk a day (full fat) but this can include yogurt and cheese. I would switch the day time milk and probably the morning milk too into cups instead of a bottle and you will probably find me naturally reduces the amount he has. I would keep the bedtime bottle if it is a sleep association but make sure you brush his teeth afterwards.

You could start offering snacks mid morning and mid afternoon along with a cup of milk, and a cup of milk before/with breakfast too.

Thank you for your reply. I've been rooting round for my non-spill cups as otherwise I will end up with milk everywhere.

Agree with fled. Try offering milk in a cup with snacks.
