Help! Easy ways to feed 8 month old on weekend away?

We are visiting the in laws for 3 days, and I'm expecting it to be full on and busy. Can anyone recommend easy and quick ways to feed my 8 month old while we are away? I normally feed him purees (annabel karmel) and some fingers foods, three times and day, and 4 formula milks a day. Usually I cook in batches and freeze but as this isn't going to be possibly, I'm looking for quick healthy alternatives without using jars. I've got weetabix, banana and potato (microwave) on my list but any more tips would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I'm not averse to using jars for some of the trip, just not for all of it...!

Give the baby what you eat :) no need for anything special - mash it up if you'd rather but there's no need to Wink

Can you not just mash up a bit of what you're having? Plus bananas, toast, sandwiches, yoghurts etc

what will the rest of you be eating? Can you not use some of that for him too? Take some of your pre-frozen stuff with you and defrost/heat as required?

Avocadoes - either mashed or as finger food. cucumber in sticks. Soft fruit like strawberries or nectarines as finger food or squished up.

Cheese to be cut up, or even pre-packed small pieces like babybel or cheddar sticks.

Sandwiches with soft cheese, mashed avocado, mashed banana or hummus?

Are any of these any good? I have a 7mth old and am struggling to do lots of batch / proper cooking at the moment for various reasons so am turning to the above stuff quite a lot!

Weetabix for breakfast.

Sandwich, rice cakes, breadsticks, hummus, grapes, blueberries, bananas, etc as a packed lunch & snacks.

Whatever you're having for tea. If you aren't having child friendly food you can't go wrong with some pasta and pesto sauce or just some olive oil. Add chicken, tuna, broccoli, peas, carrots etc in and you have a quick easy meal.

Has he had egg yet? Scrambled egg, peas and toast soldiers is pretty balanced and super quick to prepare.

How long is the journey? If not too long you could probably pack a few frozen purees in a cool bag with ice packs.

If he's getting on ok with finger foods you could also try little sandwiches? Cream cheese is easy for little ones to eat.

My ds1 was the in laws' first grandchild but my mil is now fab at preparing meals for everyone without salt. Just means the kids will always have something and then the only thing to take is a blender (depending on age!)

And actually, it's always been a good way for them to try new things when I've got bored and lazy

Give him what you have to be honest and if you want extras take some Ella's pouches or equivalent.

Our DDs took to vanilla soya desserts - they come in pots like yoghurts but keep better - don't need to be in the fridge.
