Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has any advice about my very fussy 15 mo.

She's always been a rubbish eater and there was a phase at around 10 months where she totally refused food for about 8 weeks. However, at this time she was on more milk so it didn't seem to bother her too much.

Well now she has got really fussy again. Is refusing all food except peas, sweetcorn & cheese oatcakes. She will eat the occasional ready made jar. However as she's not on so much milk she is hungry most of the day (she has 6oz in morning & 6oz at bedtime) & sHi,

Just wondering if anyone has any advice about my very fussy 15 mo.

She's always been a rubbish eater and there was a phase at around 10 months where she totally refused food for about 8 weeks. However, at this time she was on more milk so it didn't seem to bother her too much.

Well now she has got really fussy stage again. Is refusing all food except peas, sweetcorn & homemade cheese oatcakes (full of butter & cheese!). She will eat the occasional ready made jar. However as she's not on so much milk she is hungry & is screaming (I mean blood curdling screams) and clinging to me like a limpet. Do I fill her up on the food she'll eat or keep preserving hoping she'll get hungry enough to eat what we're eating? She doesn't like lumps so she's still on 10 month old jars.

My HV has told me she should be eating exactly the same as us- we're so far from that I just don't know what to do. This has been going on for 3 wks now.

Thanks

Have you tried just giving her some of what you are eating? My DS likes to see us all eat the same and it sometimes helps. He would not touch yoghurts for instance and up until he was over a year I gave him custard. He saw his older cousin eating one and now asks for them. If you are anxious about her not eating enough give her a small selection on her plate with some of the things you know she will eat and some of what you are having. Things which DS loves are meatballs, chicken strips, mini burgers, tuna, fish goujons, sausages, lasagnes, spaghetti bolognese, slices of lamb or beef, wedges of bread, beans, pasta of any kind and quiche.

Thanks. Yes I always offer her a bit of what I eat. She just swipes it off her highchair! I also let her see what her big sister is eating and try & give things off her plate, but she won't even try! I think I've tried her with most things on your list as that's the kind of thing my older Dd likes. I'll keep trying though- it feels like such a waste!
