Stock cubes for babies

Want to make some risotto for dd3 (7mths) following a recipe in a weaning book. Says to use 350ml stock. I don't have any lo/no salt stock cubes, so if I use, say, a quarter of a normal stock cube (which makes 500ml stock, 0.4g sodium per 100ml stock) and top the rest with water, will this still be too salty for dd3?

Why not just miss out the stock cube and use plain hot water? That's what I did until the babies were about 1y, and TBH, most of the time we didn't miss it and we got used to eating that way ourselves. You can add mixed herbs, black pepper and garlic and still get a good flavour without including the salt.

I did the same as prettycandles when mine were small just added water and a few herbs. Worked the same but no worries about salt.

Made DS some meditteranean vegetables with a touch of garlic in it....poooooo 'tink! Baby garlic breath!!!
