14mo DD refuses morning and evening milk now...

Literally from one day to the next she went from having a 5oz bottle when she woke and as we were reading a book before bed, to nothing. Literally slaps it away from my hand. Drinks none of it...

We've tried warm and cold milk, different bottles/cups, cows and goats milk....nothing. She's just more interested in going to play in the morning or getting into her cot and going to sleep in the evening yeah I know I'm not knocking that second one...

We've upped her dairy intake so she's having more cheese, yoghurt etc but I'm a bit concerned about her general calcium intake at this point. We've tried putting it in a cup and her having it during the day but she's not interested once she tastes what it is. She readily drinks her water however.

Not sure if it's worth a chat with GP or if I'm being PFB?

My DTs dropped both bottles by this age too. I just upped their yoghurt, cheese, gave them smoothies and green leafy veg. They are still thriving at 2.5 Wink

Ds2 is the same age and I've recently stopped bf.

He's not interested in bottles at all (since 5 months) and drinks a paltry amount of milk in a cup. I'm just going with cheese, yoghurt and milk in cereal.

I think ds1 was similar at that age and has never been very interested in milk as a main drink.

She's getting milk in her morning cereal but doesn't want it at any other time. She's having a cup of tea in the early afternoon and gets some milk in that but only enough to cool it really.

Am glad to hear the latter two posters found the same issue though! If she's getting everything from yoghurts and cheese I'm hoping she'll be okay. :)

If you are worried about calcium try dried figs and tinned salmon too. You might also want to think about swapping the tea for a beaker of milk.

We tried switching the tea for milk but she cottoned in quickly and refused it!!

Will have a look at the salmon and figs though as she loves both of those. Thanks!!

If you want to keep giving the tea, could you make it a bit like tea flavoured milk?

Alternatively, you could just stop giving the tea and offer a snack and some milk, she will probably start drinking it after a few days. Smile
