which pasta shapes for 7 month old?

Dd2 is very good at self feeding and is coping very well with fusilli pasta (the twirl ones!). I remember that DD1 also ate these when we were weaning her so I bought an ENORMOUS bag with the idea that we would just eat that shape for the next few months. Unfortunately DD1, who has always like variety in her food (pah!), is refusing to eat pasta meals that she previously would eat so I am wondering whether I could try a different pasta shape. She could just be being a fussy 3 yr old but I would quite like a bit of variety in pasta shape too so I was wondering what other shapes are good for babies? I remember DD1 having trouble with penne as it just slipped off her fingers!

(And yes, we do eat a lot of pasta in this house!!!)

DS loved spaghetti at that age.

Spaghetti and tagliatelli are my personal favourites. Not sure much goes in, but it encourages the baby to play with the food (and makes for really cute photos!)

My 7mth baby loves orzo, looks like rice but it's pasta, great for adding to veg purée to make different consistencies

Sainsburys do a shape called fusilli buccati which looks like pieces of coiled telephone cable. Really easy to pick up and catches the sauce nicely.
