HI - My 7 month old had a very bad viral cold last week and went totally off her solids, we were only just getting going with them as she's been slow to really enjoy them. She is now better and still totally off her food. All she wants is breast, I assumed at first this was a comfort thing as she was sick, but she is so much better now and refusing to eat more than say 2 teaspoons of anything. I wonder if she now associates somehow the food with being ill? What to do? How can I get her interested again? Having said this she will happily try and pick things up and put them in her mouth so I have done slices of fruit and soft veg, but not much makes it so she doesn't actually eat much in the end, she still refuses to take anything off the spoon. Any usefull advice out there?

Leave her to eat finger food. They get most of their calories from milk at this age anyway. DD is 7 months and has been slow to get going with weaning - she has a mix of finger foods and spoon feeding. eg I give her chunks of something and also spoonfeed some of the same stuff mashed up so the taste's the same and she gets used to both the taste and feeding herself at th same time.
