When you say 5 bottles, how much is in each?

Any reason why you want to give him less milk?

Would you feel comfortable giving him some bits of finger food? At 7 months DD liked things like a piece of soft pear, rice cakes with cream cheese, steamed tenderstem broccoli, eggs on toast etc.

Lots ended up on the floor for a while but she loved it.

I only give water with meals - if you only give juice then they will find it hard to accept water as obviously it will taste pretty boring, but if they accept water from the start then they will see it as normal.

At 7 months our routine was:
6.30 - 210ml milk
11.00- 210ml milk
12.00 - food - fruit/veg mash with some meat
16.00 - 210ml milk
17.30 - food - same sort of thing as above
19.00 - 210ml bottle

he has about 8 oz in every bottle and I want to get him onto drinking out of a beaker, my HV recommended that I stop giving as much milk so itll be easier in the long run to wean him off it completely, ive only tried finger food a few times but I hate the whole gagging thing

DD is just 7 months. She is BLW and is already on 3 meals as we can't eat infant of her without her getting upset that she's missing out. I have mix feed milk since 2 weeks but are about finished with breast feeding. Currently (last 3 days. Before that 4x6oz bottles)
07:00 breast feed
08:00 cereal / toast
09:00 7oz formula
12:00 7oz formula
13:00 lunch
17:00 tea
18:30 7 oz formula

She's just got the nack of her water beaker but is a bit sceptical!!

Protein in the food, without any protein in the food, she knows her only source of protein is from the milk, so she'll keep drinking the milk, she knows this.

For someone so young, this will need to be eggs, dairy, meat or fish really - most high protein vegetable options come with a lot of fibre which is too filling for the small stomachs.

I would also add in some meats, pasta, cheese, etc as that is more filling than fruits/veg.
