She said well done on exclusively bfeeding for six months and agreed that even though he's 26 weeks now, he looks happy enough without solids, leave him be for a bit if I don't think he's ready yet and try him with a bit of proper food, not slop, when it's cooler.

Mine told me I could switch to follow on milk now if I liked.

That's good advice my ds is nearly 8 months and isn't really bothered with food yet and i'm much relaxed this time too, he's not losing weight and is content, they'll eat when they're ready. Nice to hear a HV got it right for once!

Well done Hunker. I'm not surprised he isn't interested, in this weather who wants anything solid (other than ice-cream ).

To be fair to her, she had no idea I was breastfeeding as she's never seen me before. BabyDragon is enormous too, clearly too big to be breasfed.

Apart from that, HV was good when I asked about weaning.

Sanity! always welcome. One of the HV at my surgery has been to a lecture locally by Gill Rapley so she is all for it. Unfortunately the one who is coming out to do F's 6 month check next week has no kids of her own, no midwifery experience and was an incontinence nurse for 20 years....

Unbelievable, you are a lucky woman Hunker.
