9 month old not eating at home

DS2 is 9 months old. Breastfed for 6 months then weaned. He was an absolute joy to feed....would eat anything and lots of it. Started nursery full time at 8 months and eats everything there. The staff comment on how easy he is to feed. However for the past fortnight he is refusing to eat at home. He will eat fruit puree, yoghurt, baby biscuits and HIP jars but all other food (all my homemade stuff whether puree or fork mashed, rice cakes etc) he refuses. He clamps his mouth shut, spits it out and screams.

He still has no teeth but is dribbling and red checked (has been for months now). I don't know what to do. Hate wasting all my home cooked meals and tempted to just give him HIP jars but I know they aren't great.

He is loving nursery, finally started sleeping through and started crawling this week so is so much happier. But now he won't eat at home. Any idea what is happening? Thank you.

Yes I do have an idea what's happening, he's playing you! Grin

Just keep offering his meals and if he doesn't eat just clear away and don't offer anything else.

Like you say, he's eating well at nursery and his main source of nutrition should still be his milk so your lovely food is just an added extra, it won't harm him to miss a few meals and over the week he is getting enough calories.
