how to move away from bottles at 12 mo?

Can anyone offer any advice on how to move from cow's milk in bottles to cups?
DS has just turned 12 months and is happily on cows milk (9oz in early morning and 7oz at bedtime) the thing is he likes it laying down in his cot. (and only in the cot, won't sit on a lap or anything) I've no idea how to change to a cup, should I try?
During the day he drinks water from a non spill spout cup or free flow or sometimes a doidy cup - but only ever a few sips. His main liquids are the milk first and last thing.

you need to change the night time bottle as he must have his teeth brushed after it. Milk in a bottle in bed is a cause of tooth decay. Other than that I wouldn't worry. He'll drop the bottles eventually, DS1 did at about 14 months. My friends DS took till 3.5 but he did eventually. Treat it like breast feeding: insist it comes with a cuddle and a sit down. Not running about or self feeding.

We started with a cup first at the morning feed at about eight months. We chose this one as dd would defo be hungry and not refuse it.

We then introduced a cup for the afternoon then night time feed.

We had a free flow cup - not a non spill one. Just a basic spout one - about 99p.

Thanks for the replies. Maybe we can start with the bedtime bottle, might have to hold him in a bit of a vice :) then do teeth after.
The morning bottle, he sometimes wakes hungry as early as 4 so won't try changing quite yet.
