Just wanted to share the following two recipes which I've tried over the last fortnight and have been a huge hit with my dd. They are both suitable from 8 months, the first was passed on by a friend and the second I found in a book which was passed on to me recently. Both can be frozen. Hope these help anyone looking for new ideas - enjoy!

  1. cheesy potatoes - 1lb potatoes, 5oz cottage cheese, 4oz chedder or similar, enough milk and butter for mashing tatties. Cook tatties, mash with butter and milk, stir in cottage cheese and chedder. If you want you can just stir in the cottage cheese then when giving a portion add the chedder grilled on top before serving - thought this was too much pffaf so have just been stirring it all in.

  2. butternut squash and ginger - 500gr butternut squash or yellow-fleshed pumpkin, 40gr fresh root ginger, knob butter, small ammount olive oil. Pre-heat oven to 190oC/gas mark 5. Pour small ammount of olive oil into a oven proof dish. Peel, de-seed and roughly chop squash, put in oven proof dish and cook until soft (20-30mins). Meanwhile peel and grate ginger, then add to a small pan of water and simmer for 5 mins, then drain. Puree squash together with ginger, stir in knob of butter to finish.
