Why does my BLWer suddenly want purée?!

DD is 11mo and we've more or less done BLW from the start - had a few dabbles with purees, but she wasn't interested and generally rejected the spoon in favour of finger foods. She turned into a pretty good eater and for the past 2 months has been guzzling pretty much what we eat, really enjoying bit and feeding herself with impressive skills!

However..... She's been really off her food in the past 10 days - can't interest her in anything except yoghurt & weetabix - both spoonfed of course and a very limited section of finger foods - toast, blueberries, whole apple (but not chopped apple!) and shredded wheat are pretty much all she'll feed herself atm. I think she's had a bit of a tummy bug as her poo has gone really weird (see previous thread about white poo!) and DH & I have both been sick too.

Anyway, tonight, after she rejected her yummy beef & brocolli stir fry, I puréed it up for her and she ate the whole lot! I've never known her accept spoon feeding like that.

Anyone else had this? I feel a bit Hmm about it as it feels like a backward step and she used to be so good with her finger foods.

I wondered that chatty - but she was obsessed with chewing on a whole apple today and I'd have thought something hard like that would be sore on her gums, or not?

Probably relieving for her - DD loved munching on an apple or carrot stick, or cucumber when teething.
She's at the right age. Usually around 1 they get their molars. It varies though.
DD went like this-
5 months bottom 2,
6 months top two
7/8 months 4 on top, 4 on bottom, around 11/12 months molars,
15- 20 months eye teeth (the worst!!) she's just turned 2 and her 2 y/o molars are starting to come through.
Also weird nappies are a sign of teething.

When DS's teeth are bothering him, he either wants soft mushy things like Weetabix, yogurt, banana etc, or crunchy things like apple or carrot. He completely goes off other things, especially chewy things like meat, for a week or so then gets back on the wagon with a vengeance! So teething does sound like a strong possibility to me.
