what sort of bread do you eat? I started with white and then moved to 50/50 or best of both with the occasional bit of wholemeal bread. A mix of white and wholegrain is recommended for babies/young children and a fully wholegrain diet isnt recommended before age 5.

Home made. At least you know what's in it. Shop bought bread is full of crappy chemicals that really should not be in bread. With a bread maker, it takes seconds to make and it is cheaper.

We've always used brown/wholemeal, but pasta, rice etc is white so there isn't too much fibre. Depends what you have in your house, really? DD only has bread maybe twice a week so if we just bought white for her, it would be wasted, as frozen bread never seems to defrost that well for sandwiches.

We just use our normal brown shop bought bread. If they were having a slice or two the salt and fibre content would be problematic but dd just has a 'soldier' or two to nibble on and then scatter on the floor. Most mums do not have time to make bread Winkx

We have a local baker whose bread contains no added 'extras', if you have one in town, go and ask. It's easier than baking your own.
