Weaning

babies and twiglets?

My dd who is 9.5 months expertly snatched a twiglet from her uncle yesterday, and really really enjoyed it.

I was worried about the salt content as they taste so strongly, the packet doesnt list the salt content just the sodium which is 0.5g per 35g serving. Obviously dd only had one twiglet so im not worried about that single occasion.

Just wondering if the salt content is too high to give one every now and again as a snack seeing as she really enjoyed it?

Any thoughts? Dd normally snacks on fruit, rice cakes, toast fingers etc

There ios some advice on salt for babies here. Personally if it was just one I wouldn't worry but I'd be interested to see how you open a packet and then only let her eat one Grin

Ah thanks for the link, just checked and they are quite high. Think one every now and again will be ok as a treat, but I wont buy them for snacks as one portion is over the full daily amount of sodium for babies!

Plus will save me from eating the remains of the packet Grin
