When starting off weaning - how much puree/porridge/stuff in general should you give a baby?
My baby has been gumming bits of pepper/carrot/parsnip etc for a week or so but now seems to have started eating bits (judging by the nappies) I also tried him with a bit of puree today which he loved but I am unsure how much to give - can I give too much? he would have eaten more of the puree and carried on playing with the spoon for a good while afterwards but I stopped after about 3 teaspoons worth as didnt want to do to much to soon - is this about right or do I not need to worry so much - he is just under 6 months.

As long as you offer the milk an hour before the solids I think it sound be ok. The idea of offering the milk first is so that the get all of the nutrients they need, solids should just be supplemental at this age.

Okay, thanks. Just worried if he ate too much that I might give him an upset stomach. He seems fine though and it is mostly water I suppose.
