BLW - so what happens again with a banana?

I've read something on here about how to give a banana. I've failed.
I have him the bottom third with some skin on, he preferred to chew the skin, anyway he pulls that off then is left with the banana, this turns into slippery mess and he throws away in disgust. I gave him the rest on half slice toast.
I'm sure I've read something else about splitting it into 3? Confused

Yeah, if you squeeze/roll the banana gently it should start separating into three even parts along the length. Help to separate them with a finger. They grip the bananas a bit better like that.

I would take the skin off and leave only the banana in 3 pieces?

Peel banana. Cut end off. Poke your finger gently in the centre & it should separate into 3 parts.

I always ate my bananas this way when I was a child. I was compulsive about it.

Or you can just cut it to handful sizes (long finger-length rather than round). If that's easier.

My real answer to "how to do banana" was going to be: Prepare for the mess. Mashed up bits all over your child's fingers, face & the floor. But at least it has low choking risk.

I cut in half normally and then split into into 3 lengthways to make 6 thin pieces.

Oh, and it stains something rotten. Definitely use a bib.

Thanks all, I'll try again tomorrow. I'm getting used to the mess such a small person can make. Yogurt is the best :) It ends up flying all round the kitchen but he loves it and I think I do too

Freeze it for a short while first?
