11 month old has suddenly gone of ALL food and drink?!?!?!

Hi everyone, my 11 month old has recently had quite a nasty cough and cold which put him off his eating and his bottle, the doctor warned me that this would probably happen but that his appetite would be back once the symptoms had cleared up.
His symptoms have been gone for a few days now but he still has no appetite. He used to love food and was a really good eater with a really varied diet, all kinds of tastes and textures but I can't get him to eat more than a couple of spoonfuls of anything now and he won't have any finger food either. He's also totally refusing his bottle or his sippy cup and I'm pretty much resorting to squirting liquids into his mouth with a straw.
I've tried all his favorite foods, tried playing games while eating and letting him feed himself, I'm making about 3 different things every mealtime to try and tempt him and sometimes he ends up crying with hunger but won't eat anything!
I've rung the health visitor for advice, but in the meantime, has anyone else had this? Help!!!

Please take him back to the GP in the morning and get them to check his throat and ears, it sounds like he could still be unwell.

My ds is just one and also been unwell with a nasty cough and cold for the last two weeks. He was eating the odd bit of fruit last week but not eaten anything solid since saturday not even his favourites. I have managed to get the odd small bottle of milk down him switched back to formula rather than cows milk.

I took him to the doctors on Tuesday and doctor said his throat and ears looked sore but didn't need anything for it. He said he would start eating again in his own time but it's really upsetting and frustrating as my boy usually loves his food.

Hope you get on ok at the doctors today.
