According to \link{http://www.ivillage.co.uk/food/experts/coach/qas/0,,177274_186088,00.html\this} it's fine ... looks horrible but tastes OK!

Thank u WigWamBam for the link, it was very useful. I read somewhere that u should not give first stage weaning babies any citrus and this receipe calls for lemon juice (we have lots of allergies in the family so am playing it safe). Who Knows! I think I will play it safe and just not freeze the banana at all, it's a shame cause ds loves his nah-na & it's much quicker to just defrost then to go thru the rigmarole of mashing and pureeing each time banana is on the menu.

Does anyone know why u shouldn't freeze banana?

You can freeze banana, but it goes brown!

I think it would be quicker to mash a bit than defrost a cube?

I spend a few hours once a week cooking for ds. I then freeze everything and defrost as needed (either by removing the next days meals from the fridge the night before and defrosting in the fridge or by defrosting in the microwave for 2 mins as and when needed). I find it much easier and I can gaurantee the readiness of the items - don't need to wait around until the mango ripens for example as I already have the ripe one frozen in the freezer. I'd like to do the same with the banana. We know it goes brown when frozen but is that a problem? x
