Weaning

He's been sick - what should I do?

DS is 25 weeks and I've been weaning him for two weeks. The past few days he's had pureed carrot and then yesterday he had pureed sweetpotato. He vomited last night and again this morning. He had quite lot of food yesterday - more than he has had before. Also, a lot of people have got 'bugs' at the moment. I'm wondering if I should just give him carrot again today or perservere with the sweetpotato as I'm not sure what has made him sick IYSWIM! What do you think? He hasn't got a temp but he has coughed a couple of times.

Just ordinary porridge? Do i use formula milk or water to make it up with?

use a splash of formula milk. Give him bottles as usual but leave off food for a day or two.
Bless him, did he really enjoy the food you were giving him as well Smile

I've only got Sainsbury's taste the difference rolled porridge oats. I've got weetabix too... Yep, he did seem to be really enjoying it!

weetabix are good! Just check the salt content on the sainsbury's stuff, if its low then its up to you. Whichever one is easiest to clean up second hand is my advice!!!!!!
Its lovely to see them eating isnt it!

It is lovely to see them! Such a shame about him being sick. He#s just started coughing and sneezing too so maybe it's just a bug - either way, I'll do as you suggest and give him some weetabix (the original kind) (I hate making up porridge!) Do you think I can go back to the sweet potato tomorrow?

THanks - I'll give weetabix until I get a chance to get some of the cow & gate Porridge, but hopefully he won't puke up today - the sneezsing and coughing are not really that bad thank god!- if everything stays down, I'll give the puree another go tomorrow, otherwise stick to the weetabix/porridge! Thanks again
