Hi1 I'm trying to give my youngest ds the same food as everyone else and am making stewed rhubarb for tea for older ds/dd. I'm not sure if lo can have it though - is it too acidic or soemthing? I can't remember - ds is 7 and dd 9 so it's a long time ago... any advice welcome!

i think it depends on how much sugar you are adding - when i stew rhubarb i tend to add a lot of sugar

i think a little wouldnt do any harm

although it can cause a lot of wind

I'm pretty sure I gave it to DS when he was around that age.

It leads to gout and kidney stones... but maybe that's just in middle aged men...

Rhubarb is lovely!!! I'm even thinking of growing some... BUT I didnt give it to ds after looking at the amount of sugar I put in. He wanted it though - tried to steal dd's plate! Thanks everyone. btw we also all like prunes - maybe we are just odd...
