Isn't that more sensible than "suitable from 3m"?

Superdrug's packaging states their spoons are suitable from 3 months.

I think this is shit because weaning shouldn't start at the very earliest until 17 weeks - and even then IMO that's way too early.

Well, on the back it does say "4-6 months" but I figure it's a step in the right direction to see 6 months mentioned on weaning product packaging!

It's a bit of a cop-out though, don't you think? It's still giving the impression that the "correct" weaning age is 4 months.

Although I agree it's not as bad as suggesting that they're OK from 3 months ... not quite

HM I presume you waited until your DS1 was showing the 'signs' that he was ready for weaning. If so, what will you do if DS2 shows signs early that he's ready??

well i think its ok to say suitable from 3 mths because when it came to giving dd their jags, there was no way i was using the spoon they provide in the calpol box, far too sharp for little gobs. i used a weaning spoon.

I noticed today that Heinz Rusks now state from 4-6 months rather than just 4 months.... will admit to buying some today, but not for 19 week old dd - for ME!

In our weaning talk in post-natal (organised by HVs) we were told to give the babies spoons to play with when they could grasp, so that they didn't just spit them out when we came to trying to feed them with them. At the time, I didn't know about the tongue thrust reflex. Guess the HVs didn't either.
