Hello

Can anyone recommend a great hotel in Oxford centre? There is no need for child-friendly as it will be just dh and me!!

Haven't seen the rooms, but the Old Parsonage looked nice.

thanks tutter, arcticroll and anchovy ive had a look at them all

malmaison is booked up for when we are going - looks bonkers - in a prison block but very stylish! old parsonage looks great - i think thats the one for us although they do need two night booking which is a bit tricky with babysitters - i'm going to think about that one

hotel du vin dont seem to have one there yet. crazy bear looks very funky - never heard of them before!

thanks for the ideas x

The Randolph? Very ritzy! But probably really expensive.

Or Bath Place hotel is absolutely lovely; my dh and I stayed there for our wedding night! Small, old (in a nice way) rooms, friendly people, right in the centre and near decent pubs.

I think the Randolf is a bit overrated - it's very well known so you may be paying for the name a bit.

Bath Place has a very good reputation and I know that the Old Parsonage is lovely - great food and great rooms.

Don't know the Crazy Bear.

Old Bank Hotel?

Get a cab and stay at Le Manoir

wouldn't bother with the Randolph - Old Parsonage or Old Bank better, or even the Eastgate.
or, indeed, Le Manoir...

restaurant at old bank is pretty good
but if you go for the old parsonage eat at Petit Blanc on Walton St - manoir-quality food at non-manoir prices

Bath Place is perhaps a tad olde-worlde, albeit tastefully done. Don't remember yards of chintz, but the rooms were snug, given the age of the building. I suppose it depends which room you get.
Btw, if you're doing dinner out, and want something a bit different and not too pricey, above all, why not try Rosamund the Fair? The food is not too poncy, and very tasty. Assuming you don't get queasy!
