Just got back from the Sherwood one on Friday. Had a fantastic time but wouldn't go in the summer TBH as so expensive in high season and I imagine it would be very busy - it was busy last week! It is ideal out of season though, as you can still swim in the warm.

Staff are good, accomodation looks horrible from the outside but is nice inside and very clean; restaurants great; even the supermarket prices are comparible to your local and not hiked! Very child friendly - lots of playpens for naps in the swimming area, free Hipp Organics food for under ones in restaurants, etc, etc,!

Sounds good....but know what you mean about high season prices.....not sure as we can't take the older two out of school atm....exams,sats etc
suggested to dh that we go next feb, march...that would be better I think

We managed to get a three bed Comfort (basic) villa for £189 for four nights instead of £289.

Just got back from the one in Penrith.
Had an fantastic time with 2.5 year old and 6 month-er.
I was one of those who said would never go but thought eldest would enjoy it so we'd give it a try before I went back to work.
Like I said loved it, very baby/pushchair friendly, good food, reasonable prices even in supermarket.
Think they bump things up in school hols and the "extras" soon add up especially for older kids - our neighbours went in Autumn half term for 4 nights with another family and they spent £5000 between the 8 of them!!!!!!!! (then again think there was a bit, a lot, of oneupmanship going on).
We got a 3 bed exec (wanted washing machine with the youngest pucking and pooing habits!) for 4 nights for less than £350.
Can't wait to go again but only in school term time....

i sent off for the brochure and they came with that
plus if you've got pre-schoolers they knock an extra 10% off - or at least they were doing for march!
