Hi,

We are looking for somewhere to go in Sept this year, somewhere close to the beech with nice walks and nice restaurants/bar child friendly. I was thinking of Dorset or somewhere like that - can anyone suggest a place and/or website to book accommodation? Looking for a cottage or apartment x

I went to Saundersfoot in Wales a couple of years ago. You can hire apartments right on the beach. There are a few cafes etc. The beach is fab. Not too touristy. Would go again. We booked through powells who actually are based there.

thanks - I'll have a look at the website. Its a shame really as we go abroad every year so am used to the sunshine but thats definitely something you can't guarantee living in the UK!!! x

Sorry, a bit late to post but if you're still thinking of Dorset I know several people who've used Lyme Bay Holidays for cottages around the area. I think they do cottages right in the middle of Lyme, and even on the sea front. Lyme has a few nice delis and places to eat and is proper English seaside. Gorgeous.

If you're still looking, we went to Sandbay holiday flats in Perranporth, Cornwall when DS was the same age. You literally walk out the front door onto a lovely sandy beech and the village is behind you. IMO it was fab for a baby and we had nice weather. There's a beach cafe there too. Not sure of their website but google it and it comes up.
