Highgate/Hampstead/Primrose Hill: things to do

Hi all

Does anyone have any insights on what nice things a friend and I could do on a Sunday daytime in these areas?

We'd quite like a bit of light culture (I was thinking Kenwood House, if that's nice, and maybe a gallery); a good coffee/snack/lunch spot; and maybe a not-too-taxing walk.

I know the Heath a bit but have heard that Primrose Hill is nice for walking and eating out; any tips greatly appreciated!

Kenwood House is lovely -- and it's free! You can wander round some of the rooms and the art collection is excellent, including works by Rembrandt, Gainsborough and Turner. There's a couple of good cafes, or nice grounds for a pic-nic.

Take a kite if there's any wind!

Walk up to the top of Primrose Hill and just sit there "because the view's so nice" (this will make sense if you go).
Lots of lovely little restaurants on Regent's Park Rd, from cafes to more expensive places. If you have children Elias and Grace have beautiful clothes. The zoo is just over the road, but if that is not your thing at all then why not do the National Portrait Gallery and then just get in a cab up to Primrose Hill? Or the Wallace collection?

I am the world's worst kite-flyer. Grin Although it's a nice idea.

helly, I love the NPG and Wallace Collection but would do that anyway and am looking for other things to do in different areas, more outdoorsy. I've never really explored Regent's Park Road, so that and Primrose Hill are great tips. (no kids, just me and a friend).
