North Wales - where to go?

We'd like to go somewhere in North Wales this summer, probably taking our caravan. Can anyone recommend somewhere pretty, interesting and attractive town to walk round, nice walks, quite quiet but not dead, good sandy beach not too far away? There'll be me, DH, our 1mo and possibly the dog!

Thanks. Unfortunately the sites near there are all booked up - any more recommendations? Is Anglesey a good bet?

Anglesey is beautiful. Rhosneiger is quite surfy but not too busy. Beaumaris is a lovely little town with nice shops and a lire you can go crabbing on . The island has lots of spectacular beaches which you can easily get too.
other than that Abersoch is nice but busy in August.

Llyn peninsula. It's beautiful, the people we met were lovely, the beaches and country side are stunning. I'd go again tomorrow!

Portmerion - if not for staying, for a day out
Newborough Sands on Angelssey is lovely

Rhosneigr or Beaumaris.
Fab pancakes for breakfast at Mojos in Rhosneigr - and great ice cream in Beaumaris.
Beaches at Rhosneigr are great - probably quite surfery in summer.

Another vote for Beaumaris and Conwy. Fabulous castles and the fifties style icecream parlour is great. Betsy coed is lovely too. Tbh it's all beautiful around there.

Betws Y Coed is lovely. So is Llanberis. Lovely walks round the area. Dinas Dinlle beach is nice for walks with buggy and dogs. Try Glynllifon park. Again lovely walks.

All of Anglesey is beautiful. I loved red wharf bay, new borough and beaumaris especially. Agree Llyn Penisular also wonderful.
For lots of dog walking you could try Ynyslas and Borth. Aberystwyth close by for shopping and excursions.

We love Harlech - amazing beach and very easy to get to both Snowdonia and the Llyn peninsula. The town is very small, but attractive, and of course there's the castle.

We are off to hafan y Mor next Saturday. Can't wait! All the reviews are very positive, esp for touring site.
Lots of friends have given me a list as long as my arm for the beautiful places nearby I HAVE to visit. Bardsey island, Abersoch, Criccieth castle, snowdonia, whilsting sands, Llanbedrog....
It looks like a great base for visiting lots of places of outstanding beauty. I will let you know in 2 weeks :)
