tired holiday novice needs last minute break with toddler

I really don't know what I'm doing with holidays - never really had the money for them, but I really need to get to the seaside for a few days! How should I set about booking a last minute deal for a few days away for just me and toddler? My ideal would be self catering close to seaside North of England, maybe whitby or that kind of thing. I don't know where to start with websites. I could go at very short notice if I knew where to look for deals, but am a bit clueless - please help me Smile

It depends on what you want

Self catering cottages, which I find the best with children as they tend to have washing machines and the added advantage of being able to shut the door on a sleeping child.

Another site for cottages

B and Bs can be quite cheap

Local tourist sites can be helpful

I think I was wondering where is the best place to find a last minute cancellation, presuming that would be cheaper?

this site had short availability and less than one week options. Otherwise you'd have to go to the source i.e. contact the accommodation owners directly.

Sometimes booking sites have good deals

I have just been to a Haven park with my toddler, not everyone likes them but we had a great time. Caravan was lovely, very clean and well equipped. They have lots of last minute offers.

I know it's a dirty word on MN but Bounty send an email with lots of holiday offers, you could also look there.
