Best hotel in London near Kings Cross/St Pancras station

We're planning an overnight stay in London as we're due to travel on the Eurostar early morning. Me, OH and DS (4). Can anyone recommend a decent hotel that's close to the station? Preferably within walking distance. A few friends have suggested Travelodge but when I looked at reviews they weren't good.

Premier Travel Inn. Everytime.

Thanks, I'll check it out. Is there more than one in the area or is just Premier Inn Kings Cross?

Are you on a budget? Stayed at the St. Pancras Renaissance for the weekend in June with my 2 DC and it was fab (but pricey)

Definitely the ibis at Euston.

There's two. The Euston one is fab. There's a lovely park behind it.

if its really just somewhere to rest your head for the night then the cheapest of the budget ones will be fine. we do this when we stay in London because its either this or a top end/top price one if you want somewhere really decent. we have stayed in most of the ones around kings cross over the years and they are all a bit much of a muchness. see where you can get in and who does you the best price. its only one night.

I've stayed at both Premier Inn Kings Cross & Euston

Both great, Kings Cross slightly more convenient for St Pancras & slightly nicer.

Thanks everyone. I think it will be one of the Premier Inns. It really is just to sleep, we won't be spending the day in London as we're coming from the North and it's a long trip down. It's also the day after our wedding so we won't be travelling to London too early!
pictures is there much around the Kings Cross PI? I'm thinking places to eat so we could grab some dinner when we get there?

NOT the Travelodge. It isGRIM. We did a similar thing last year and honestly, it was awful. It was cheap though...

The reviews I've read for Travelodge were bad. And TBH we've never had much luck in Travelodges, they've always been really awful. I know it's only for a night but we want something a bit nice. And it will be the start of our honeymoon so don't want a manky start if we stay in a Travelodge! Well I say honeymoon, DS will be with us and we're going to Disneyland Grin

There's a lovely park just up the road. There's only afew minutes walk between the two premier inns so I would go for the Euston one. There's your usual Pizza Expresses etc plus loads of other restaurants. Don't have dinner at the Premier Inn it's a waste of money. Do have breakfast though. If you join their mailing list they will beg in touch when the have offers on. We usually pay about £75.

Thanks Lighthouse. I've looked on Premier Inn website and for our date for a family room its £130. I thought the earlier we booked the cheaper it would be! Do they reduce the room prices nearer the time?

It's about three months ahead

What you can do is what I did one year. Book on a flexible cancel by 4pm the day before rate. Then wait for the special offer deal a couple of months before, book it & cancel your original booking
