Need to stop off in way to Northumberland...ideas please?

We are travelling from the midlands to Northumberland - just over 4 hours.
We have 2 dc aged 10 and 4.
We need to find somewhere to stop en route for lunch and so the dc can have some air/run around.
Any ideas?
