Bluestone vs Centerparcs

Hi we're looking at booking a few days away. It would me and DH, 3 yr old DS and my parents. Thinking about either Bluestone or Centerparcs (probably Longleat). From the websites I'm leaning towards Bluestone - we live in Cardiff so the travel distance is about the same. Prices also seem similar. Just wondering if anyone had tried both and had a view on pros and cons of each?

Bluestone! - accommodation is much nicer!! And i felt the activities were more suitable for little one and you can easily go off the site if you wish.

Bluestone .
Much smaller than centerparcs , still enough to do though and very easy to travel out to Tenby or Narberth for a day trip .

Bluestone, accommodation is gorgeous and you can hire a golf buggy to get about the site which is ridiculously good fun Wink And there will be approximately 10% of the people.

I love Bluestone, can't recommend it enough. Never been to Center Parc though, sorry.

Been to Center Parc once, DH and I found it overwhelming as it was summer and there were so many people, but we aren't used to that many. The pool was amazing though.

We went to Longleat last year - hated it. DC had to be kept really close as there were 100s of plonkers zooming on bikes down the steep footpaths (seems to think they were mountain biking), the swimming pool needed some TLC and a darn good clean, food was rubbish, house was grim (living in the 80s) - we went mid week and of Jan - was absolutely packed.

Oh yeah, the accomodation (and we had a supposedly posh house) was a bit grim and smelt disgusting. The houses at Bluestone are really lovely, if you can afford a Skomer you will probably never want to come home.

I'm starting to realise why they gave out all those very cheap weekends when they started, it was so I would be preachy about the place! Blush

Ok I'm persuaded on Bluestone!! The Skomer house had already caught my eye MrSlant!

OK, well if you see a wild haired woman with three ginger boys in tow in the pool/indoor play bit come over and say hi!

We go to CP a couple of times a year, it's ok, getting better as the DCs are getting older and we can do more. Always disappointed with the accommodation. We've booked Bluestone for a week in August - really looking forward to it!
