Friend wants to go for 4 days at Easter. love caravan holidays but usually go to a quieter type with less facilities where the kids don't have too much entertainment on tap. Anyone been, had a look and it looks busy, busy, busy?

That's just up the road from me, and yes its huge and busy. If you fancy perranporth, try liskey hill holiday park, closer to town but a bit further from the beach (still close enough to walk), and smaller and quieter than Haven I believe.

We stayed here May 2011

Its fairly busy (we went in half term) and theres the usual kids clubs and nighttime entertainment and a swimming pool.

Like most Havens now though - there are a few free things to do, but most activities are costly. The kids clubs during the day are free as well.

The beaches are beautiful and we spent alot of time there - although the Easter being so early you might be happier to stay inside.

You can take or leave the enterainment BTW and you will need passes to access the nighttime enterainment and swimming

Pennaporth is really nice and has a Co-op and smaller shops.

Yes, access to beach is over massive dunes, lots of dogs on site, pay extra for most things, entertaining rubbish, kids activities badly organised. Avoid

Most reviews on Tripavisor good though many had a problem with the standard and cleanliness etc of the caravans. Last year we stayed at a small private site in Scotland, just some grass for the kids to play on, a river and a loch and surrounded by hills. It was glorious and very quiet and peaceful (till we got there). Had a look at the all dancing, singing Haven site nearby and it was my idea of caravan hell so wary of the big activity sites.

I disagree with the above. Caravan parks are caravan parks and you can choose what to do or not to do. If you are active and love beaches / surfing this is a great place for that. The views whilst walking over the dunes are stunning and the reward from the journey back makes you feel great.
Time the tides right and its a lovely walk to Perranporth along the sand or we usually walk across the top of the cliffs eat at the beach bar then walk back paddling on the way. Haven does provide some free entertainment and the pool is indoors and i beleive they have upgraded this plus new eateries etc
