Hi there, we went for the first time for our 10th wedding anniversary in September then loved it so much we went back for a night over Christmas. We stayed at The Francis Hotel, right in the centre and loved it! You have to try the cream teas in Bath, just gorgeous!

I live in bath and used to put business clients up in hotels so I'm familiar with a few of them.

I agree that The Francis is really nice; recently refurbished and the location couldn't be better.

If you can stretch to it then the Royal Crescent Hotel is amazing and they have The Bath House spa on site and it's fantastic.

The Bath Spa Hotel is also nice and has a pool etc but not quite as special as the Royal Crescent.

The Queensbury is great too, a bit smaller and more boutique-y (wonderful restaurant called The Olive Tree), it doesn't have its own spa but you can visit the city's thermae spa which is really great (the evening package is pretty romantic).

There are also some nice b&bs in bath but they do tend to be a bit further out.

When we went to bath we stayed in a cheaper hotel and spent the money we had saved on full day with treatments at bath spa. has a fantastic roof top open air very heated pool. the next day we went for afternoon tea at the pump house. personally prefer to spend less on where i rest my head and more on things to do during the day!

I had a wonderful break at The Francis Hotel in Bath last year.

Easy walking distance to everything and lovely rooms.
