Is there a naice hotel near the M4/M5 junction?

Can anyone recommend a posh hotel around where the M4 joins the M5? Bath/Bristol area - not too far off the motorway.

Pref. a country house type hotel with grounds who can provide a family room for me, DH and DS. Reasonably child-friendly obviously but DS is 6, well-behaved and not a fussy eater so it doesn't have to have children's menu or be baby proof. Still we don't want to be frowned at by guests when we walk in! Any thoughts? Thank you!

Berwick lodge may suit you

Aztec Hotel here is naice - although its not a country house. Its a modern built hotel on the business park that is just off that junction. Have been to weddings and a meal there and its much nicer than a typical business park hotel. I suspect it may be pretty quiet at weekends, but full of 'suits' in the week.

Nearby is a pub the Bowl Inn in Almondsbury here with great food - which I know does rooms although have never stayed there as a guest so not qualified to talk about staying overnight - but foodwise I love it. Not often seen kids there either but they are very friendly behind the bar - so you could ask them if they have family rooms and are kids allowed in bar or restaurant.

A bit further away but definitely fitting the naice country house bill is Calcot Manor here and this probably ticks all the boxes but its north of the Bath exit on the M4 so not quite that near to the M4 M5 interchange.

(Can you tell I used to live round there!)

Ooh, those are both great suggestions thank you! Both with perfect locations and the right sort of facilities for us. Thanks

Sorry I meant all THREE hotels, and that both of you had made great suggestions. Otherwise it sounded like I was just thanking StuckOnTopOfTHe ChristmasTree and rudely ignoring givemeaclue Xmas Blush Thank you both!

I have also stayed calcot and it is great for kids, very family friendly -agree with stuck on Xmas tree. A bit outside your original location but well worth a detour

This one is 20 mins north of the junction off the m5. It's luffly. My parents used to stay there when we lived that way.

The spa in the Aztec Hotel is nice though.

Make sure you come and tell up where you end up and what it was like!

I will! But we're making a reservation for August, so my review won't be for a while. I am so looking forward to it though - and now I have lots of lovely websites to browse while thinking of breakfast in bed.... Mmmm... Thanks all!
