Hi, we have been offered a baby gym by elderley rellies who want to buy one or DD, who is 11 weeks. She has really started to enjoy trying to bash things in the last week, loves looking in mirrors and seems (to besotted me and DH anyway) to be beginning to link bashing jangly stuf and a fun noise.

I would be thinking about getting her one anyway but would be looking 2nd hand or ebay i we were buying. With this kind offer however I want to get her the best one!

What do people think?

I borrowed one for my first girl and it was great but the Tiny Love one I bought for the second baby, he was never interested in. Could be just him OR maybe the gym just wasn't that great for babies???

Look forward to hearing other peoples ideas. sadly I do not remember the make we borrowed, it had lots of animals hanging down though...

We had the Tiny Love/Gymini one with safari animals on it. You could buy extra animals if needed. The animals hung down quite low, so they could reach them from an early age, but they were on little hooks you could shorten as they got older. Also had a little mirror, and played some tunes. My DS adored it, spent hours under there until about 8mths old, DD was less keen preferring to watch mummy and daddy!
It was also good as it folded up easily so good for travelling, and washed well. Has been borrowed endlessly by other friends with kids and still looks good.

On the tiny love website it is called Super Deluxe lights and music. Costs about £45 though so not cheap!

We have this one, it's by Fisher-Price. DD wasn't interested in it at all as a baby and DS has always loved it...

Actually DD played in it quite a bit at 22 - 25 months, but it probably only became irresistible because DS was using it!

They have both adored the baby bouncer, as have various friends babies. I found it a real sanity saver although you should only use it for short periods. But, the Baby Bjorn bouncy chair is one of the very few things I wouldn't want to be without with a baby in the house

Tiny Love/Gymini has lots of animals hanging down & also space to add stuff on. Also has a mirror, crinkly bits, lights and some bloody awful music.

DD is starting to enjoy using it more regularly (14 wks) - DS always wants to lie down on it (nearly 3). Another case of wanting what his baby sister has!

Also- It can go in the washing machine, and folds in half with poppers for easy storage. Not cheap, but if it's a present...

The fisher price rainforest one with giraffe and rainbow is lovely

I think the ones with a big X over the top are the best.

A friend had one which I thought was good as you can move the bars about on it. Also when we had our postnatal meet-ups it fit all seven babies on at once I can't remember what make it was though. I think it had palm tree and fish etc designs on it if anyone knows which one I mean.
