Best toys and games for a 16 month old?

DD seems to be at a bit of an in between stage. Too old for baby toys but not quite coordinated enough for lots of toddler toys.

What was a hit with your 16 month old please? Ideally things that will still be popular in 6 months time!

Thanks

I see this thread is a bi told, but in Case you come back...

DS is 17 months and gas loved the a ELC caterpillar ball run for a while. It's large enough that not much co-ordination is needed. He also lived the FP cookie jar shape sorter. Although he has needed help putting the shapes in the right holes, the music plays when they are put in the top too, so he puts them in and out for ages.

He also loves his hammering bench, and again, until recently has used his own method - pushing the pegs down with his hand.

Puzzles! We have a lovely range aimed at age 18+ mths, with ideas as well for how to use the puzzles as your child gets older. You are right - it is such an inbetween age, and children change so much from this age now until age 3 a they really develop their gross and fine motor skills. Or instruments are great too for learning about sound, rhythm and cause and effect.

A beautiful swing with their name on it. Have a look at //www.BraveToys.com They have pretty fabric toddler swings and will they will embroider your child's name on it in different colours and fonts. Really gorgeous!

the Step2 Playful Woodland Climber is best choice for 16 month kids. It's made with natural colors and realistic textures, the Step2 Naturally Playful Woodland Climber will look great in your backyard while providing your toddler with plenty of outdoor fun. Check out Step2 Naturally Playful Woodland Climber's pic here. I bought this from toys r us by using toys r us coupons for my son's first birthday and I'm so glad I did. It's the perfect size slide for him to go down by himself. Its actual price is $249.99 but if you will use their coupons will save $62 & $187.49 will be discounted price. I am sure it's best toy & game for your little kid.

I joined a local toy library to borrow plastic Little Tyke slides, climbers and ride on toys. My boys found it amusing for a week, and then they were bored with it, also they outgrow them faster than you expect. I was glad to return them at the end of the month, all that plastic cluttering up the garden!

Better putting the money toward a full size garden toy, they can use when big and small.
