Perfect day

Went out yesterday for two hours on Nell, hacked up the bridle path to other yard alone, picked up GD on her pony, went for a lovely long hack (and had a nice long canter, and both stopped afterwards)dropped GD and Ben off at his yard then hacked back alone with Nell. Played happily putting horses away, then went home and had celebratory barbecue and one glass of wine more than was totally necessary!

Neither horse put a foot wrong, the sun shone, and I actually had enough bottle to hack alone for the first time in my life.

Made up for a bastard fox killing two of my chickens on Thursday! Will we be able to hunt them again soon do you think? (although Nell can't jump or gallop, but she's really heavy so could stand on them and squish them!)

Hunt them anyway, some hunt near you will (obviously not this time of year but you could go cubbing in a few months?) it's a stupid law.

Glad you had such a perfect day, sounds like you have landed on your feet with Nell - must be better expression than that! You know what I mean!

Thanks Mitchy, she is perfect. She's a bit of a handful on the ground as so strong and has been testing us out. She's much more respectful now though as she knows we are firm with her.

She is really my husband's horse, as she's ideal for a beginner, we are looking for a pony for GS next, then a horse for me.

Nell and husband are in lurrrve. They gaze at each other in a devoted way and he's always sneaking off to see her!

Rather fall on my feet than any other but!

Meant bit not but, but actually would rather fall on feet than butt! Husband had a lovely ride by himself tonight. She is fab and is staying for ever (sod the one month trial) She's seriously wide though, and I do ache a bit

Am going to take some photos of Nell just as soon as I can find the charger for the camera, (builders have hidden it!) and also some new pictures of Ben as going to first show on 11th July and all day pony club this Sunday.
