he may look like a pea on a drum at the moment but he has progressed to steering off the lead rein in walk, he likes trotting but cannot get the hang of rising bless him

Your ds looks very comfortable, you must spend a lots of time with the pony.
I don't know anything about horses though I'm afraid of them but trying not to pass this on to my dd so shes had a few riding lessons

Looks like they have lots of fun . I have pics like that of my DS when he was tiny with our Shetland - he's 21 now ,as is our Dartmoor pony who was purchased for him when they were both 6 - he gave up riding at 7 - so she has been a very nice pet .

He looks lovely and relaxed, your pony looks very "stick with me kid, we'll be fine" honest type.

Rising trot takes practice but your pony looks look a lovely armschair-ey type and I your DS probably weighs less than the saddle so I don't think she'll mind if he sits for now.

Oh I am so jealous! I'd love a pony, and I know that DS would love one too as he is mad about all animals. Not likely to ever be a possibility though unfortunately. Having said that, we have just moved to a lovely rural village, so maybe he can make friends with other children who have ponies and get his my fix that way?!
